So you want a vintage wedding?

Recently I was the photographer for a 50s Vintage Styled Wedding at a classic car garage in Colorado.
Urban Events Colorado was the planner with the vision and did such a wonderful job making it come to life. The Vehicle Vault in Parker, CO gave us access to a gorgeous pink 1960 Cadillac Coupe De Ville which Parsley + Valentine fitted with a cascading floral waterfall out the passenger door. The florals were all so classic with a shimmery twist.

Our super talented hair and makeup artist, Salon Breezy, and her husband, were also our gorgeous models.
If you want a vintage or vintage inspired wedding, I suggest a few things.

  1. Find yourself an amazing hair and makeup artist who can recreate vintage looks with a modern flair

  2. Find a dress that has a classic cut and gives you a bit of bounce in your step. Short is OKAY!

  3. Rent a classic car for your day or host your event at a place like The Vehicle Vault that has everything you need on site.

  4. Find ways to incorporate classic and vintage themes with modern elements. For example, our cake was a very classic design but had edible glitter, pearls, and gorgeous floral with a modern a-symmetrical design…

  5. Get your guests to join in! Hire a paper goods artist like Menakshee Designs who can create invites, save the dates, and fun place settings that are unique to your theme

  6. Get in the mood! Blast some music from the era…or hire a Sinatra impersonator…pay for a big band who can re-create some classics live for your guests.

  7. Most importantly- HAVE FUN with it!
